About Matba

West Azarbayjan Electric Power Generation Management was established in 1997 and officially registered with a reference number of 3986 at the Company Registration Office in Urmia. Its primary goal was to efficiently operate power plant equipment and facilities.

As an affiliate of the Ministry of Energy for 14 years, this company has successfully managed and operated the Urmia Power Plant, Khoy Power Plant, and Urmia Gas Power Plant. Throughout period, the company achieved numerous accolades and honors for its outstanding performance.

In 2010, in line with the policies outlined in Article 44 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the company was relinquished to the following consortium companies through Iranian Privatization Organization and was separated from Ministry of Energy:

  1. Energy Gostar Jam Co. with a share of 50.4%;
  2. Pasargad Energy Development Company, with a share of 36%;
  3. Arian MahTaab Gostar Company, with a share of 13.6%.

With over 27 years of experience and a team of over 300 skilled and dedicated employees, West Azarbayjan Electric Power Generation Management Co. is entrusted with the operation, maintenance, and supply of parts for several power plants in Iran with a total capacity of 2466 Megawatts.

Company Purpose based on Article 2 of Association

  • Providing operation and maintenance services for power plants, refineries, petrochemical complexes, and other industrial units
  • Construction and establishment of related facilities and equipment, national and international trading of various energy carriers, water, and steam.
